M & L both had award assemblies yesterday. They both have had an excellent year. M was recognized for Student Council and completing 5th grade – he’ll also get certificates for A/B honor roll and completing his AR goal each semester. He received a special P. E. award too “for Outstanding Student”. L was recognized for Student Council and received a medal for the Superintendent’s (all As) honor roll. Also got his AR certificate. Managed to get one photo shot of M – he didn’t want to step in the mud where I was having them pose. Levi let me snap a record 4 different shots!

More Spring Springing April 10, 2010

Growth of the hostas in almost three weeks. See March 26 post for a before picture. We also planted three new hostas in the front flower bed. When we moved into our first home in Iowa, there were hostas planted by the tree in the back yard and I really liked them. We planted some when we were in Texas.

Hubby and his Mom have been working on redoing the front flower bed. I’m so pleased at the variety and promise of color. We’re going shopping today for a water feature. Before and after pictures to come.

Spring Is Springing March 26, 2010

This is our back yard on the first day of Spring

We’ve had lots of rain lately since then……

But, that’s okay! It means our plants will grow! These are our hostas coming up. They were actually planted here when we bought the house and I was so glad because we left some behind in Texas. Our first house in Iowas had them too. Hubby’s Mom is coming soon and will give us a consult for our front flower beds. She’s really good at that kind of thing (and I am NOT – no green thumb here). The terra cotta thing on the right is a replica of a civil war time fence post.

I would like to say I’m good at getting rid of something else spring brings, but these prints might stay on the floor for a day or so!

Spring is Springing and I love it! In a very short time we will celebrate our Risen Savior! We will also be celebrating three family birthdays at our house!
